Update: Hudson Valley Shooting, 25-Year-Old Dead, Another Critically Wounded

A 25-year-old man is dead, and another was critically wounded during a shooting in the Hudson Valley.

The incident occurred in Orange County around 11:30 p.m., Monday, May 13, in the area of 33 Hasbrouck St., in the city of Newburgh.

According to Mike Neppl, spokesman for the city of Newburgh, officers responded and found two victims: a Rock Tavern resident, a hamlet of New Windsor, dead from a gunshot wound, and a 20-year-old resident of New Windsor in critical condition.

Neppl said the 20-year-old's injuries are considered life-threatening, and treatment is ongoing.

The department is investigating the incident and is asking for any witnesses who may have been in the area or have information to contact police at 845-569-7509.
